Tips for dying Easter eggs with shaving cream
Kid’s can choose the color they want to make their eggs and really make it their own! I like to give each child a disposable pan.
This really makes clean up a breeze! Plus, there is no fighting or arguing and each child can create the design in their color choice.
This is also a great idea if you are having an Easter Egg Dying Party! Give each guest their own pan and it makes it all so easy.
You can use any size pan you like. Just make sure there is enough room to make the design once you drop the food color.
How to tie dye Easter eggs and make marbled Easter eggs?
Shaving cream is the easiest way to make marbled Easter eggs. It’s definitely the easiest way if kids are involved. 
You can also use oil, vinegar and food color to make marbled eggs. This technique is a bit trickier but the results are gorgeous.
You can make Marble Easter Eggs with Kool-Aid. This is bit different than simply using Kool-Aid to dye Easter eggs but the results are so cool!


How do you dye eggs with food coloring?
You can use food color from the grocery store or some people like to use the gel food coloring. This really provides for a darker egg if you are going for a more vibrant color.
It’s also really fun to dye eggs with food color with an egg without the yolk. Just blow out the yolk and then dye the egg shell with fun colors!
Have you ever dyed the eggs out of their shell and made Easter deviled eggs? These are so pretty and make the table just look so festive!
We started coloring Easter eggs with shaving cream last year and it was a blast!
I was a little skeptical at first and wondered would coloring Easter eggs with shaving cream work! I feared we would end up with just a big mess of shaving cream and food coloring everywhere.
However, dying Easter eggs with shaving cream ended up being one of my favorites Easter egg decorating techniques. They really do end up with a pretty marbled tie dye effect.
It’s so cool looking and really fun to make with all the shaving cream. Plus, I love that it uses items I already have around the house.
Coloring eggs with shaving cream is really frugal too! I don’t have to buy any kits!
We also learned how to dye Easter Eggs with Kool-Aid and that is a really fun way to dye eggs as well.

Materials for Shaving Cream Easter Eggs:
  • Liquid Food Coloring (We used McCormick neon food coloring)
  • Shaving Cream
  • Toothpick
  • Hard Boiled Eggs, room temperature (You also make hard boiled eggs in the oven)
  • Rubber gloves 
  • Paper Towel

How to dye Easter eggs with shaving cream:

1. Spray shaving cream onto a shallow mixing bowl or disposable pan.


2. Drip food coloring on top of the shaving cream in the color combination of your choice. Use a toothpick to swirl the colors in the shaving cream.



3. With glove covered hands, carefully roll an egg into the food coloring and shaving cream mixture and place onto an egg carton to set. Repeat for the desired number of eggs.



4. Let eggs set. I let mine set about 2 hours. Cover your hands with gloves again and use paper towel to gently wipe away the shaving cream.






How do you dye eggs for Easter?
I know some people do not like to stray from using traditional Easter egg dying kits. Those are fun too but I think you would be pleasantly surprised how fun and easy these other ideas are!
We love dying eggs with Kool-Aid too. This really makes for a bright and vibrant colored egg. So pretty!
